Practical information

The globality of our pars or 42 bus is equipped with ramp for wheelchairs.
The bus stops of the Principality are likewise being progressively adapted
to facilitate access for wheelchair users. An easy-to-understand wheelchair symbol on the electronic information screens indicates which buses are equipped to carry wheelchairs.

The Monaco bus network is equipped with a geographical positioning system which, thanks to the screens at each stop, allows you to view your waiting time.
Screens placed at the exits of the SNCF rail station of Monaco-Monte Carlo indicate the departure times of the next buses at the closest stops.

You can change buses one or more times in the 30 minutes that follow the first validation of your ticket. There are no restrictions on the direction, the bus route or the stop. If you have a contactless card you must VALIDATE EACH TIME; if you have a single ticket present it to the conductor or ticket inspector to have it COUNTERVALIDATED.

Using the bus:
•   The passenger waiting at the bus stop must signal the conductor to stop.
•   Passengers must board the bus from the front door.  Passengers who have a valid bus pass (annual, quarterly or monthly) can board from any one of the doors. If the bus card has expired the ticket holder must request another ticket from the conductor.
•    The movement of passengers inside the bus cannot be blocked.
•    When the bus becomes crowded, fold-down seats must not be used.
•    Every standing passenger must use the bars and hand straps for support.
•    In all cases, the passenger must respect any decision that the conductor makes to ensure rider comfort and security.
•    For the safety of all, it is forbidden to speak to the conductor while he or she is driving.
•    Do not obstruct the opening or the closing of the doors.

Fare payment:
•    Every passenger must have a ticket that he or she validates at the moment of boarding the bus; free passes must also be validated.
•    A passenger without a ticket must buy one from the conductor, giving exact change (fares are posted at the bus stops).
Priority seating:
•    Certain identified seats are reserved for those who hold a disability priority card («station debout pénible») (Ministerial Order n°2001-160 of 28 March 2001).

Good conduct rules:
•    All passengers must be orderly and respect the tranquillity of others on board the buses and at the stops.
•    It is forbidden:
           - to drink and eat on the bus,
           - to degrade or vandalise bus equipment or material, both on board and at the stops,
           - to behave in a disrespectful, insulting or aggressive manner,
           - to jostle and argue with other passengers aboard the bus or while getting on and off the bus.
All those who violate the rules are subject to a fine as well as the withdrawal of their bus pass if they hold one.
•    CAM strongly urges passengers to give up their seats to the following people:
The disabled, the elderly, pregnant women, people with infants.

Animals :
In general, animals are not allowed on board. Exceptions are made for:
•    Small animals, which can travel free, as long as they are kept inside a travel bag (max 45 cm) and do not disturb passengers or soil the bus.
•    Larger dogs, always kept on a lead. Owners must respect the Monegasque regulations and laws in effect regarding public places (for example, the use of muzzles). The dog owner must pay for a ticket for the dog.

Pushchairs, buggies and infants:
Pushchairs and buggies are allowed on buses under certain conditions:
•   Access on the bus can be made through any door, with the agreement of the conductor and after validating the ticket.
•   All pushchairs (maximum size: twin pushchairs) must be placed with the brake on in the area designated for wheelchairs, with the owners holding on to them. Places must be given up to wheelchair passengers as they have priority.
•    To ensure maximum safety, CAM recommends that pushchairs be folded up and that passengers sit with their backs to the road holding their baby in their arms. Likewise, CAM recommends that infants sit with their backs to the road.
•    If the bus becomes crowded, you will be asked to fold up your pushchair. It is the conductor's responsibility to remind you.
